Hate Crime Awareness Week 2026
During Hate Crime Awareness Week, we are reminding our University community that everyone should feel safe, welcome and able to be themselves.
Hate and intolerance have no place in our University community, on or around campus. We all have a part to play in creating an inclusive environment where people feel respected and supported.
Celebrate Difference. Stand against hate.
Experienced or witnessed hate?
If you are a University of Birmingham student or member of staff and have experienced or witnessed a hate crime or hate incident, Report + Support can provide confidential, trauma-informed support.
You can speak with a trained member of the team to talk through what has happened, explore your options, access support and find out more about further reporting options, if you would like to consider them. You can also choose to tell us what happened anonymously.
You do not have to know what you want to do next before getting in touch. You can take your time, explore your options and decide what feels right for you.
Your options. Your choices. Our support.
Although our focus this week is on hate crime and hate incidents, Report + Support service is here to support University of Birmingham students and staff who have been subjected to any form of harmful behaviour. Find out more about the support available and hear from members of the team in the Report + Support service introduction video.
