Community Iftar 2023

The Islamic Society are thrilled to host the much-anticipated and popular Community Iftar once again this year! This event is open to absolutely everyone. 

Date: Wednesday 19 April 
Time: 19:00-21:00
Where: Aston Webb Great Hall and Chancellor’s Court in Marquee 

Iftar is the meal served at sunset during Ramadan to break the day's fast. The previous University Community Iftar saw over 1,500 people come together to break their fast under the night sky.

Prior to the Iftar, there will be an exhibition on Islam and its rich cultural and artistic history in the Great Hall from 16:00. The exhibition has been curated by the MIAH Foundation and will feature a display of original artefacts and reproductions, including a facsimile of the Birmingham Qur'an Manuscript loaned by the Cadbury Research Library, and an arts and crafts table.
