Your Summer term continues

Whether it’s preparing for your next year or relaxing after assessments, we want to help you get the most from your time with us. The Summer term continues from next week with timetabled sessions alongside our UoB Xtra programme. This includes a full programme of events, challenges, and opportunities to unwind, connect and learn, running from Monday 3 – Friday 21 June

Due to the current encampment on the Edgbaston campus, some of the activities will look different and locations may have changed, but all of the planned activities are still happening and we look forward to seeing you at the outdoor cinema, at the 3k Your Way, watching performances from various student groups, and much more. All of the UoB Xtra events are free, but some do require that you book a place. Full details of all the activities are available on our event listings

We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment where everyone can go about their business free from intimidation or harassment. We also recognise that some students may wish to take part in protests about issues that they care deeply about. However, setting up tents on University property where there is no permission or authority to do so is not acceptable, and the presence and recent extension of the encampment is intentionally causing disruption to current and planned student activities.

Senior members of university staff continue to offer to meet with those involved in the encampment to have a serious dialogue, disappointingly, at the moment this offer has been repeatedly rejected.

We will continue to take all appropriate action to support freedom of speech and are committed to minimising any further disruption to activity on campus.
