Have an 'egg-cellent' Spring vacation!

From everyone at the University, we wish you a ‘cracking’ Easter and Spring vacation! Don't forget the University is closed  from Friday 18 April - Wednesday 23 April 2025.

If you’re staying on campus, some services will remain open, and others will run on a limited service. Full details are on our Easter pages.

What is Easter and how is it celebrated?

Easter commemorates the Christian belief that Jesus died a sacrificial death and was resurrected. Although, nowadays, people from non-Christian backgrounds also celebrate the holiday as it is marked by a national bank holiday.
