Did somebody say more new study spaces available on campus?
Following your feedback, we have been busy increasing the number of study spaces across the University. Carry on reading to learn more about our new and improved spaces where you can learn, meet, relax, and enjoy!
First up is the Green Heart marquee situated at the centre of campus. The space in front of the Main Library has now been refitted as an additional study space for all students to get your head down and focus. Open from 10am-6pm, this brand-new space has over 200 seats – a mix of desks, booths, and soft seating – as well as WiFi, power points and heating.
Drop by the JG Smith building (behind Muirhead Tower) and explore this brand-new space on campus. Open to all students, it features 180 spaces with power points across two floors for you to get some work done in peace and quiet. This space is open from 8am-8pm - just remember to bring your ID card to access it in the evenings.
Scattered all over campus, you may have spotted our study ‘Nooks’. These pods are private spaces to study in comfort, alone or in groups.
Do you need a room to Zoom? The Media Room in Main Library has been designated as a “Zoom room” – a space suitable for making Zoom calls or taking part in online seminars and tutorials. Just remember your headphones!
You can also make use of the newly refurbished space on the second floor of the Barnes Library. Based in the Medical School (but available for all students), the study space now includes additional desks with power points, booths and informal seating areas for you to work and relax in.
And over at the Guild of Students the lovely team there have created a fantastic new quiet area where you can get on with assignments and projects whenever is convenient for you. From comfy sofas, to desks with built-in sockets and PCs which are freely available to use, this is the perfect space to hit the books.
We want to make your student experience even better, so we hope you enjoy studying in these new spaces, shaped by you. Together we’re ‘Making it Happen’!
