Network upgrade, Wednesday 15 December: Brief interruptions to service

IT Services is upgrading key parts of the network, which is responsible for the delivery of many University services.

IT Services is making a further upgrade to key parts of our network, which is responsible for the delivery of many University services. With this upgrade, we're making sure that our network is reliable and resilient. We're also making IT sustainable; because of the upgrade, we'll be able to reduce the number of servers we need, and use less power running them.

The upgrade will take place on Wednesday 15 December. There will be two brief interruptions to service - lasting a few seconds each - during the evening at around 7.00pm. This unavoidable interruption will affect many of our services, but IT staff will be standing by to make sure that everything is back up and running as it should be afterwards.
