Holi Festival 2023

UPDATE: The event to celebrate Holi has been postponed until Wednesday 15 March due to poor weather predictions. Please note; any tickets purchased for the original date (Wed 8 March) will still be valid for the revised date.

The UoB Hindu Society are bringing the celebration of Holi back to campus! You are invited on Wednesday 15 March 2023 from 14:00-17:00 over at The Vale! Tickets (£10 for members and £14 for non-members) can be found by visiting the society's page on the Guild. You'll find traditional Holi celebrations of colour throwing, dance performances and a DJ!

Holi is the festival of colour celebrated by millions of people around the world, traditionally by Hindus. There are 2 days of Holi, the first being an homage to the religious background of Holi: good over evil and to protect loved ones. The second day is the celebration of this battle. People customarily wear white and throw vibrant coloured powder at each other until unrecognisable! This signifies that regardless of race, beliefs and religion, everyone is equal and can live in harmony.
