Meet the BBC, create a book, and get your popcorn ready

Following on from our update last week, there are some really interesting events running over the next few weeks to support your wellbeing and studies. Are you social media savvy?

Working on your personal branding and being smart about what you post on your public social media profiles can help you find your dream career. Join us on Monday 27 February from 13:00-14:00 for a session on using social media and self-marketing to land a great job. Register for the session.

Would you like to work at at the BBC?

One of the BBC’s key aims is to reflect our audience and portray their stories authentically. To achieve this, the BBC needs a diverse workforce. Join us on Wednesday 1 March (10:00, morning session) for an opportunity to hear about the variety of opportunities at the BBC. It’s open to all students, and particularly welcomes students from diverse backgrounds. Hear representatives discuss a wide range of schemes and apprenticeships suitable for graduates. The second session in the afternoon (13:00) is from the BBC’s RISE team, (a leadership and development programme for BBC employees of minority ethnic heritage) who will tell their career stories followed by Q&A and informal networking. The team seek to offer inspiration and further insights, from their personal experiences. Secure your place

Ever wondered how to create your own book?

Join Sarah from the library on Thursday 2 March from 14:00-17:00 in Arts 315. for a friendly beginner's class on the art of book binding. Learn how to turn a pad of paper into a stitched book using both budget-friendly art and office supplies, and specialist book binding tools. Attendees will leave the session with an A5, plain-paper book suitable for use as a notebook or sketchbook. Book now. 

Ready to sing along to Bollywood?

Celebrate Holi by joining us for a Bollywood movie night on Tuesday 7 March at 16:00 in Alan Waters G03. Bring a friend!
