Create, Submit, Win: EDI Art Challenge

Running for the fifth year in a row, the University of Birmingham and University of Amsterdam are coming together to host a festival celebrating and advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) both within and beyond our campuses.  

Running throughout April, this exciting festival will feature a variety of events across both universities, bringing together students, staff, and communities for meaningful conversations and activities. 

The theme this year is ‘Listen to Your community – Stories under Pressure’ which focuses on understanding, defending, and strengthening EDI in the face of resistance. In honour of this theme, we’re inviting you to submit a digital artwork that reflects your interpretation. Not only will you get to showcase your creativity and make an impact across two campuses, but you can bag yourself a juicy €1,000.  

The winning artwork will be featured on an exclusive University of Amsterdam tote bag, symbolising visibility and solidarity across our campuses. A panel of student judges from Amsterdam and Birmingham will select the winner, who will be announced at the final event of the EDI Festival on 30 April 2025.
