Keep your personal information private: Legitimate companies will never ask for sensitive details like your bank account, PIN, or password via email. If you're unsure, contact the company directly using the number on their official website.
For further advice on scams visit the student intranet or contact the IT Service Desk if you’re not sure if the email is malicious.
Please note, during the festive season (Monday 23 December to Wednesday 1 January), your University IT Service Desk will still be here to help but running a reduced service so do reach out to us via Live Chat at itservicedesk.bham.ac.uk or call us at 0121 414 7171.
