Enter UoB's photo competition to win!
To mark the University of Birmingham’s 125th anniversary, we’re launching a fun and creative photo competition – and you’re invited to take part!
There’s something special about the start of academic year. Whether you're a first-year exploring campus for the first time or a seasoned postgrad making your return, we want to see what student life looks to you.
We're looking for photos that show what student life really feels like around these themes:
- life on campus
- community and academic life
- friendships
That could be hanging out with friends, getting stuck into uni life, finding your favourite study spot or snapping moments from a society or community event. We all love a classic Old Joe shot, but we’re after something a bit creative and personal this time. If your photo captures the vibe of student life, it’s exactly what we’re after.
The best entries will be featured in official university channels and displayed as part of our 125th anniversary celebrations. And we have some fab prizes up for grabs:
- 1st place: Instax camera (with film) plus limited edition UoB merch (125 tote bag and key ring)
- Two runners up will receive a £15 Amazon voucher and limited edition UoB merch (125 tote bag and water bottle).

You can submit up to three of your best images with your entry-but just one entry per person, so make it count!

Make sure to upload high-quality JPEG/PNG images (at least 2 MB) via the Microsoft Forms portal. Label each file with your student ID number followed by the entry number For example: 85858509entry1, 85858509entry2.
The competition is open until 31 October 2025 so you’ve got plenty of time to get your entries in!
