Remembrance Day Service at Old Joe
Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, is observed in the UK to remember those who have died in wars across the world. The one-minute silence held at 11:00 marks the moment when World War I ended on 11 November 1918.
At UoB, we will be hosting a Remembrance Day Service around Old Joe, coordinated by Reverend Mindy Bell from the Multifaith Chaplaincy. The service will run from 10:30-11:30, with a one-minute silence at 11:00am to honour those who have served and sacrificed in times of war and conflict.
Whether you come from a country that observes this tradition or not, this is a meaningful opportunity for shared reflection and respect, and all are welcome.
We hope to see you there.
Multifaith Chaplaincy
The event is hosted by the Multifaith Chaplaincy, which provides a welcoming space for prayer, meditation, relaxation, and worship. You do not need to be religious to visit or take part in chaplaincy activities, everyone is welcome.
