Join Soul City Arts for a day of FREE creative workshops, lively discussion and delicious food

Do we need art in times of austerity? Are our communities really hard-to-reach?

On Thursday 9 June, Birmingham street artist and Soul City Arts founder Mohammed Ali invites you to explore these and more questions in a free day of creative workshops and discussion on Thursday 9 June (10am-1pm) at the Soul City Arts studio space in Birmingham.

You’ll hear about Soul City Arts’ work in using the arts to bring communities together and the Waswasa project commissioned as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games cultural programme – an immersive theatrical experience that explores the act of Islamic prayer and what that means in British secular society.

The day will provide a relaxed environment to share ideas and thoughts over delicious food by renowned chef Munayam Khan (Raja Monkey).

The trip is free for UoB students from all backgrounds and faiths but it’s first come, first served, so register now to secure your place!

Free transport to and from The Barber Institute is provided.
