New final year reassessment option for the academic year 2021/2022

Do you need to retake one or more failed modules during your final year of your Undergraduate Masters or Bachelor’s degree?

Try not to worry, from the academic year 2021/22 you now have the option to resit final year modules during the supplementary examination period in August 2022.

 Your options

As in previous years, if you have achieved enough credits to graduate, you can maintain your current mark and graduate in July 2022.

The new option is to resit your failed final year modules during the August 2022 supplementary examination period, in which case:

  • Your graduation ceremony will be moved to Winter 2022
  • Your mark will be capped at the pass mark

Resit decisions should be confirmed by 5pm on Friday 1 July 2022. If you choose to take the reassessment, complete the ‘Final Year Reassessment – Defer Graduation’ form in the Student Gateway

While this might seem like a difficult decision to make, there is lots of help and resources available to help you either way. Head to the Registry section of the student intranet to find out more about your options and the support available.
