The University’s reporting duties

The University has a duty to report certain information to the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), which means that we will have to tell them if we find out you have breached any conditions of your visa. It is important that you read and understand the following:

  • If you take a Leave of Absence from your studies, you will normally need to leave the UK until you are ready to resume your studies;
  • If you delay your course start date or do not arrive for your course on time, we will have to tell the UKVI about this and this might affect the validity of your visa.  You should contact IST if you have not left the UK and think you will not arrive on time;
  • You should only work the number of hours that is stated on your visa during term time. For further information visit  working during your studies.

If you are worried that you have breached any of the conditions of your current visa, then please contact us so that we can advise you further.
