Checklist for updating Pure

If you have recently started with the University of Birmingham, you will be set up with a Pure user account automatically.  Use this checklist to get started on Pure.

 

Can you access your Pure account?

Log in at https://pure.bham.ac.uk  using your university user name and password.  It can sometimes take a few days for the systems to update.   If you have any concerns please email pure@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Need help using Pure?

Information and help can be found via the Pure Intranet pages  https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/pure 

Further support is provided by the Research Planning Team and the Library.  Please email pure@contacts.bham.ac.uk if you have any queries or problems not covered by our help information.

Check your profile on Pure

Click the Edit profile button (located below your photograph or image icon on your personal profile page) in Pure and you will be able to add information about your research interests, a profile picture and a preferred name.

 

Enter details of your publications on PURE

You can import previously published outputs from online sources such as Scopus,  PubMed and ORCiD.  Please see our importing from online sources page for further information.

If you had a research profile at your last institution we may be able to arrange for your data to be transferred  across. For futher information please contact pure@contacts.bham.ac.uk

Know how to access Pure remotely

Pure is accessible only on-campus, that means logging in with a computer on the UoB Edgbaston campus only.

However, Pure users can also access Pure when off-campus by registering and using the University’s Virtual Private Network  (VPN) via the Remote Access Service.  See our remote access guide for further information.  

Add or create ORCID to your PURE profile

The University expects all research active researchers to register for and manage their ORCiD record.

Adding or creating an ORCiD indentifier to your Pure profile with enable you to manage keep both your Pure publications list up to date and update ORCID.
