The International Reputation team is responsible for maintaining and growing Birmingham’s position as a global university,with a particular focus on building a strong academic reputation overseas that reflects the quality of the University’s research.

International Profile Building

We use the latest digital targeted marketing and communications techniques to raise the University’s profile and brand, whilst communicating our research strengths to key international audiences and creating ways for meaningful engagement with these groups.  

International Communications, Press and Media

The team works closely with academic colleagues to promote the University’s research publications and secure coverage in key international press and media outlets within our targeted regions of strategic engagement. We also co-ordinate media activity for senior international visits and academic conferences.

Individual Academic Reputation

We support the overall institutional approach to international league tables, as well as working with academic colleagues to grow the reach and influence of individuals, communicating research impact to build reputation, engagement and citations.

Richard manages the International Reputation team, defining the strategy to build the University’s international profile and academic reputation in key markets and deliver the activities that will build sustained success.

Tony leads all international media opportunities, working on strategic plans to secure a strong profile for the University across a range of print, broadcast and online media outlets in key territories overseas, notably Brazil, China, Europe, India and North America.
