Virtual tenancies

Virtual tenancies are suitable for businesses that want to use all the services of a serviced office suite (reception, post-handling, registered office address) but do not need the office space.

Many virtual tenants work from home, although some have offices at the University campus, and use the virtual tenancy to ensure a separation between their business and research interests.

Virtual tenancies at Birmingham Research Park provide the following:

  • A registered company address
  • Post and call handling
  • Meeting and conference facilities at preferential rates

Eligible companies can also access the services of the BizzInn business incubator.

Bio-incubation facilities

The Birmingham BioHub® is a life sciences incubator that provides dedicated bench and desk space at inclusive monthly rates.

BioHub Licensees are typically pre-revenue life science companies who need fully equipped laboratory space on flexible terms.

In addition to desk and bench space, BioHub Licensees also benefit from being located in a well-connected community which provides:

  • Services, such as radioactive material handling, that are difficult to find in commercial laboratories
  • Equipment such as mass spectrometry that is usually an ‘added extra’
  • Access to purchasing consortia
  • Access to regulatory advice, and a medical devices testing pathway
  • On-site professional networking and links to organisations such as the West Midlands Academic Health Sciences Network, or Meridian
  • Access to meeting rooms

The Park has a reception and post-handing facility, on-site café, secure parking, 24-hour access, and its own super-fast broadband network.  Office suites can be refitted to accommodate tenant needs including clinics, laboratories and product testing facilities.
