Work experience:
I joined the University of Birmingham in October 2015 as a Change Manager, having worked in a similar role at the University of Leicester immediately prior. Before entering the world of Change Management, I had undertaken a wide range of administrative, managerial and analytical roles across the private, public and third sectors. I am a huge advocate of CPD and have completed a variety of work-based NVQs, a HNC in Computing and hold the Chartered Management Institute Level 5 and Level 7 Diplomas in Management and Leadership. This all led me to complete an MBA in June 2016.
I am excited to be able to bring the skills and knowledge I have gained to a new role as Operations Manager for Social Policy from February 2018.
Greatest Achievements:
Achieving the MBA in 2016, as this had been a longstanding ambition.
What I like about the University of Birmingham:
There is so much to like – from the amazing campus, lovely and dedicated people and the important work that happens here. I have found that there are so many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of the your day-to-day role and these really help to build your professional network and to develop as an individual.
If I were stranded on a desert island:
So I am assuming that I would be travelling somewhere with my husband and therefore he would also be stranded so does not count as an item and also that he would have 3 items that would help us actually survive - I might have overthought this!
- Our Dachshund, Eddie
- Books – I will read anything
- Insect repellent - Both through being a bit of a wimp around creepy things and seemingly being a magnet for mosquitos
