UoB Bike Maintenance Classes

Do you want to learn how to repair a punctured inner tube, replace your chain change your brakes and adjust your gears to avoid relying on your local bike shop if anything goes wrong?

Then look no further, as the University is offering beginners bicycle maintenance classes to staff and students to provide you with the simple maintenance skills you will need to maintain and repair your bike. Each maintenance class will consist of two sessions (each 2 hours long).

Session 1: Will guide you through setting the bike up, (a much neglected part of cycling) and basic bike maintenance, to ensure you know how to check your bike is safe to ride and in good working order. It will also give you a few tips on how to keep your bike running smoothly and comfortably.

Session 2: Deals more with maintenance problems and troubleshooting. It also allows you to bring your tools in to undertake maintenance on your own bike with the help of the instructor to give you the confidence to ‘have a go’.

The next class will be held at the Munrow Sports Centre on the following dates:

Session 1: Tuesday 27th November (5.15-7.15pm)

Session 2: Tuesday 4th December (5.15-7.15pm)

The cost is £20 for staff and £15 for students
