It’s here!  With the summer rapidly passing by I wanted to remind you that the University will play host to the British Science Festival next week, from Saturday 6 until Thursday 11 September.

We have five pairs of FREE tickets available for University Staff for 19 of the Star Events at the Festival. To enter the prize draw for these tickets please email Francesca Peach stating which shows you would like to attend. Please send your entry by noon on Thursday 4 September and winners will be notified on Friday 5 September. View the list of Star Events included in the prize draw.

The British Science Association have also confirmed a special offer for University staff – book two events tickets for the price of one for all evening events. This offer has been extended - book via the British Science Association website quoting ‘two4one’ in the promotion code box at the bottom right-hand-side of the booking screen.

The programme offers something for everyone, with activities for families, adults looking for thought-provoking entertainment and stimulating debate, or professionals interested in the latest research. Many of the events are free to attend. A number of our own leading academics will also be presenting their research. View the programme and to book tickets for events.

On Sunday 7 September the festival coincides with our annual Community Day with many family-friendly activities taking place across campus. More information on Community Day.

This is a perfect opportunity to showcase some of the groundbreaking research that takes place at Birmingham, as well as our outstanding campus, so please do spread the word amongst your family and friends.

During your lunch break or after work please pop along to the Flask & Bunsen (the marquee in Chancellors Square) to chill out and soak up the atmosphere of the festival. There will be a range of hot food, snacks, drinks and cakes available.
