Welcome volunteer

Welcome is just around the corner! This is one of our busiest times of the academic year, as new and returning students make their way onto campus. The Welcome team rely on the support and expertise of colleagues to help deliver a range of activity and they would like to invite you to consider volunteering at this year’s Welcome.

Helping students find their way around, and access all the necessary information and services to ensure they feel settled is an important step in the student journey. It’s also an exciting time on campus with the Welcome Village, a series of marquees in Chancellor’s Court, creating a hive of activity and a real buzz on campus.

All staff are invited to volunteer and there are a variety of roles available, from undertaking Right to Study checks for international students, to answering questions from the friends and family of new students. It’s a great way to meet colleagues from across the University and gain experience in a different area.

Activity runs from Saturday 22 September to Friday 12 October 2018, with peak levels of activity from Monday 24 - Friday 5 October.

If you are interested we do ask that you seek your line manager's approval before volunteering. You will receive briefings and any necessary trainings before Welcome.
