Free Microsoft Office 2016 for University staff

IT Services have implemented Office 365 across the University which allows us to provide all staff with a free copy of the Microsoft Office suite for home use.

As part of IT Services continual commitment to enhance support and infrastructure at the University we are currently rolling out Microsoft Office 365 to all staff. Office 365 will enable staff to work in a more flexible and collaborative way by offering variable mobile working options using Microsoft technologies. Staff can access up to 5 free licences to install Microsoft Office 2016 for home usage on their personal PCs or Macs as well as their mobile phones and tablets.

What is Office 365?

Office 365 refers to the suite of Microsoft applications that are delivered via the cloud. It offers all the usual Office desktop applications like Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint, however, some phone or tablet devices may only be able to run a selection of these.

Your free subscription will be licensed for the duration of your employment at the University.

How do I install Office 365?

You can download Office 365 via our Microsoft Portal – to log in you will need your University email address and password.
