Good luck to our staff, students and alumni competing on the global stage this summer

The 2024 Olympic Games are underway, with more than 30 staff, students and alumni proudly representing the University of Birmingham!

There will be athletes competing for Olympic success, coaches ensuring that their athletes perform at their peak, and support staff helping the Games to run smoothly and effectively.

Our academics have been providing expert commentary around the Games, which start on Friday 26 July and run to Sunday 11 August. 

Our Sport & Fitness Centre has created a full schedule of when our athletes will be competing, so you can follow all our hopefuls as they represent their country on the world stage.

Ranked 7th globally for Sports-Related Subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, the University is proud of its legacy in nurturing top sporting careers.
