Global Entrepreneurship Week

Global Entrepreneurship Week returns 16 - 22 November 2026 and it is the world's largest entrepreneurship festival, celebrated in 180 countries.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an exciting campaign to celebrate and empower entrepreneurs in every country and community across the world – especially those individuals who face barriers or may never have considered starting a business before. We invite you to experiment with your own ideas, to try something new and to gain entrepreneurship skills to apply to your course, your start-up or future career.

Celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week at UoB

Each year, the University of Birmingham runs a series of extra-curricular events and opportunities to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Tuesday 17 November: Runway Workshop 3: The Pitch Challenge - Can You Win Them Over? (Open to all students)
Tuesday 24 November: Runway Workshop 4: How to Protect Your Idea: An Insight into Intellectual Property (Open to all students)

Female Founders Programme 2026 Workshops (Invite Only)

Enterprise is continuing to be embedded into the curriculum:

'Global Enterprise Project' Module in Modern Languages
'Communication and Enterprise' Module in Biosciences
Biomedical entrepreneurship module
The Ad Alta pathway has also launched for most schools this year, providing more opportunities for the future embedded of Enterprise & Entrepreneurship Education in the curriculum

The B-Enterprising Ideas Fund is designed to help you grow an idea and help you find your first customers over a six month period. This is open to anyone who has the potential to start a business in the UK, please check eligibility before making an application. Full funding details here.
