Martin may be of interest to students of accounting and finance, economics, enterprise and those with an interest in banking, investment, finance and the City.

A 25 year veteran of the city with over 20 years of experience at one of the preeminent global investment banks, Goldman Sachs. Martin has been in leadership roles since the late 90s, being promoted to MD in 1999 and Partner in 2002, and is an effective manager of product, leader of people and architect and executioner of strategy. Martin has leadership experience in both growing and declining markets and has had first-hand experience of both building and managing a fast growing, privately owned company.

Martin is currently a Board Member of S-RM a global Intelligence and Cyber Security business formed after a management buyout (MBO) in November 2015 (Martin was part of a small team that led the MBO). The company employs more than 350 people across 9 offices including London, New York, Washington DC, Hong Kong and Singapore and combines intelligence and cyber consulting to help its clients understand the risks to their business and identify and implement the most effective means of mitigation. As a member of the Board, Martin has oversight of the business with day to day responsibility for the corporate intelligence business.

Martin has also been a member on the University of Birmingham’s Governing Council and is an active supporter of a number of charitable organisations. Martin was awarded MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2017 for services to Education both in the UK and overseas.
