Wellbeing Wednesday - 10 December
As we come to the end of a busy term, make sure to take some time for yourself and explore what’s happening on campus and around the city.
The University will be closed from Tuesday 23 December – Thursday 1 January 2026 (inclusive). Don’t worry, there’s still support available for you over this time. In this week’s update, we’ll look at:
- Mental Health and Wellbeing Services over the winter break
- 24/7 support through UB Heard
- Support from the Guild
Mental Health and Wellbeing Services
The registration form for therapeutic support through the University Mental Health and Wellbeing Service will close at 11.59pm Wednesday 17 December 2025 and will re-open at 9.00am Friday 2 January 2026.
You can still access 24/7 emotional and mental health support from trained counsellors, via our UBHeard Support Line. Whatever you are experiencing, we’re here for you.
In a mental health emergency, please telephone 999 or visit 111 Online to check your mental health symptoms.
Your College Wellbeing Team
We’ll be taking a break over the festive period, so our inboxes won’t be monitored. Any emails, extensions requests, or extenuating circumstances requests will be reviewed when we re-open on Friday 2 January 2026.
You can find lots of useful information available on our LES Wellbeing Support Service Intranet page.
Report + Support
Responses to the Report + Support disclosure service will close from 1.00pm Friday 19 December to 9.00am Friday 2 January 2026. You can still submit disclosures during this time, but these won’t be responded to until the service reopens.
If you have been subjected to any harmful behaviours including sexual violence, domestic abuse, stalking, harassment, or a hate crime, you can find urgent support on our Report + Support pages.
Pause
Whilst Pause@Uni will be closed from Friday 19 December to Monday 5 January 2026 (inclusive), you can still access 24/7 support via our UBHeard service. Pause will reopen for drop-ins on Tuesday 6 January 2026.
Guild Advice
Explore the Guild’s Help And Support At Christmas pages to see how they’re supporting you over the Christmas break, including housing advice, food banks, and safety on campus.
University Opening Times
Some University facilities will remain open during the closed days, though opening times may change. You can find what’s open and when over Christmas on our intranet pages.
