Society Spotlight: UBCU's Christmas Carols

Each Christmas the University of Birmingham Christian Union put on a massive Carols event for the whole University - reportedly the biggest free Carol Concert in Birmingham!
They say: "It's a really exciting opportunity to share the Gospel with so many of our fellow students and staff. Our 2022 Carols service is on Wednesday 30th of November. Celebrate the seasons with Yin Yoga at the Barber

As we start to wind down into these winter months, enjoy this peaceful and reflective yin yoga practice, surrounded by our intimate gallery space. Inspired by our exhibition Peasants and Proverbs: Pieter Brueghel the Younger as Moralist and Entrepreneur, we will be focussing our practice on the cycle of the seasons and this hibernation period in nature's cycle.
Places cost £3 per person. Limited capacity. Booking is required. This event will be held at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts in our galleries. All levels and abilities welcome so no prior yoga experience is needed.

University Philharmonic Orchestra

The lounge will be open throughout the Christmas period 10am-3pm. Festive films and music videos will be played on the screens when the lounge is open. Food and drink, including festive snacks and festive hot drinks, will be available to purchase from the lounge and board games will be available to help encourage people to engage others using the lounge space.
A schedule of the films to be played will be provided via email to all accommodation residents once listings are released – so please keep an eye on your emails! Selected films will include staff members from the accommodation team or the guild being available to offer any support/advice any residents may need as well as hand out festive goody bags to all in attendance.

Society Spotlight: Strictly Brum Dancing

Strictly Brum Dancing is back! Join BALADS for their glittering annual event, with their couples hard at work this term learning their routines to compete for the glitterball trophy.
Representatives from committees from a range of student groups will be dancing a variety of styles for your vote, and there will also be some exclusive demos from some of their advanced couples, as well as a charity raffle with some great prizes! This year they are supporting the local charity RSVP, which provides support for victims of rape and sexual violence.
Student tickets cost £6 and can be bought online or on the door. Non-students are welcome to attend, with tickets at £7.
