Birmingham Scholar is open to students who join the University through: 

• Pathways to Birmingham 
• Care Experienced 
• Realising Opportunities
• Sanctuary Scholarship
• Other students identified for tailored support as part of the University’s Access and Participation Plan (2025–28)

As a Birmingham Scholar, you are entitled to: 

Up to six one-to-one appointments Academic Skill Centre 

• 5 Personal Academic Tutor sessions 
• Providing equitable access, including priority for schemes such as the Turing Scheme and the PGT Access Scholarship
• Enhancing the student journey (Welcome Event, monthly newsletter, UoBXtra workshops) 
• An Annual Welcome Event 
• Funding contributions towards funded study and work abroad opportunities (via Go Global - subject to eligibility and availability)
• Dedicated monthly newsletter  
• ‘Memory Making’ opportunities 
• Exclusive priority Internships through Careers Network
• Exclusive early applications to The Birmingham Project
• Exclusive access to Life Design Course 
• And more
