Scholar bear gets a name
Say 'Hi' to Birmsbie Bear, the new Birmingham Scholar mascot
Students attending the Birmingham Scholar Welcome event will remember that we introduced them to the then unnamed Birmingham Scholar mascot, who simply went by the name 'Scholar Bear'. Scholar Bear was not happy with that name and so we invited attendees to submit their suggestions a new name for the bear.
We received some fantastic suggestions, so thanks to everyone who took part. Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Student Ambassadors (EDISAs) we asked to pick the final winner, and have now made their decision.
Huge congratulation to student Megan Henderson for the winning suggestion, 'Birmsbie'.
It is our absolute pleasure to formally introduce you all to Birmsbie, who will be making an appearance at many more Birmingham Scholar events to come.
