University Restricted Access
The University will be working on restricted access due to Covid 19 from Friday 20th March 2020.
IST staff will be working remotely from home to continue providing our international students with immigration advice.
If you have a specific immigration question or your Tier 4 (General) visa is due to expire in April, May or June 2020 then please log an enquiry online to receive specialist immigration advice.
How the IST triage service works
We are here to help you with any problems or questions you may have during your time with us. As part of this, the International Student Team offers a triage service to ensure you receive the appropriate support for your issue.
Please note: if you have questions about how to extend your Tier 4 visa or would like us to check your supporting documents for a visa application, you will need to book onto one of our dedicated workshops for this purpose rather than using the form below.
If you have a specific immigration issue or question, we recommend that you contact us online in the first instance so that we can advise you. You can also contact us via the triage process below. We recommend using this option if you are unsure what support you require or think your situation may require you to see an IST advisor in person.
The IST triage service offers a range of personalised support for students. Depending on your situation, this may include online advice and guidance, a small group workshop with other students, or an individual appointment with an advisor.
- Please complete the IST triage form, providing as much information as possible about your query.
- An advisor will then assess your situation and allocate you to the most appropriate source of support.
If the IST advisor reviewing your query allocates you to an individual appointment, please read our IST Appointment FAQs prior to attending an IST appointment. The FAQs provide information on where you need to come for your appointment and what you need to bring, as well as other useful information.
Appointments will take place on the 3rd floor, University Centre (above Spar). Please check in at the front desk when you arrive for your appointment and your advisor will come to collect you.
It is very important that you bring the following documents to your appointment:
- Your passport and current visa/BRP (original)
- Photocopies of your passport and visa/BRP
- Any other documents relevant to your query and photocopies if necessary
Appointments run on Thursday afternoons and Friday mornings. Please note that we do not run appointments on Bank Holidays and University Closed Days.
