Update on Chamberlain halls of residence

Late last night (15 June), the West Midlands Fire Service attended a fire in one of our halls of residence at the Vale - Chamberlain Block C Flats. West Midlands Fire Service and the University’s Security team responded to the incident within minutes and proceeded to control the fire, which is thought to have been caused by unattended cooking.

We are pleased to confirm there were no injuries and everyone was evacuated safely. Students who required alternative accommodation have been successfully rehoused on a temporary basis and will continue to receive support.

Those who live in the affected block will receive an email from Accommodation Services with more information and they can be contacted on 0121 415 8520 if you need further assistance.

If you or any of your friends have been affected by this incident and require any emotional support, there is always someone available to talk to via our support service UB Heard, available online and on the phone, 24 hours, seven days a week all year round.
