Important reminder for undergraduate and postgraduate taught international students

As International students, studying in the UK on a student visa, you will be aware of your requirements under the terms of your student visa which are set by the UK Government. The University, as your “sponsor” also has a number of requirements placed upon it - and together, the student and the University, we must follow these requirements so that you can continue to study in the UK. More information.

Postgraduate Research Festival

The Postgraduate Research Festival, happening 27-28 June 2023, is the biggest celebration of postgraduate research at the University of Birmingham, giving postgraduates from different disciplines the opportunity to share their work with the wider University and beyond. See the full programme and book your place to join us!

The Festival will showcase all the exciting and innovative research being done by postgraduates at the University of Birmingham. PGTs are very welcome to attend and are particularly encouraged to join our ‘UGS Discussions’ roundtable event, which gives postgrads the chance to network over topical questions and topics.

If you’re a PGR and want an opportunity to heighten your research profile, you can also take part in our Research Poster Competition on your research (deadline: 31 May).

Postgraduates at Pride!

Join the University Graduate School & the Guild of Students in celebrating the contributions of LGBTQ+ people to Birmingham's past, present, and future! We’ll be marching in the Birmingham Pride Parade on Saturday 27 May, 10.30am-3pm. All LGBTQ+ postgraduates and allies (supporters of LGBTQ+ equality) are welcome. Book your place!
