Get moving for Mental Health Awareness Week 2024!

We know how important it is to look after yourself, especially during your time at University, which is why we’re proud to be teaming up with The Mental Health Foundation to celebrate this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week with a range of free activities for students to enjoy.

One of the most important things you can do for your mind and body is regular movement.

We know that life can feel hectic, especially when you’re juggling assessments and exams. It might feel tricky finding time to get moving but finding moments for movement might be easier than you think!

Whether that’s getting your steps in during your lunch break, a quick session at Sport, or having a spontaneous dance party in your living room, every bit helps! Learn more about how staying fit and focused during your studies is important from Peter, Senior Gym Instructor at UoB Sport & Fitness

Get moving

Everyone can get the mental health benefits of moving more, it’s all about finding what works for you.

You can join UoB Sports & Fitness for some key de-stressing activities and sessions to help you wind down. They’re hosting a range of free classes, meditation, water confidence and social sports sessions for you to attend to help you de-stress and get moving! For a full list of events, visit their Destresstival page.
