Happy Easter from UoB!
From everyone at the University, we wish you a very egg-cellent Easter and Spring vacation! Don't forget the University is closed from Friday 29 March - Wednesday 3 April 2024.
If you’re staying on campus over the vacation, some services will remain open, and others will run on a limited service. Full details are on our Easter pages.
What is Easter and how is it celebrated?
Easter commemorates the Christian belief that Jesus died a sacrificial death and was resurrected. Although, nowadays, people from non-Christian backgrounds also celebrate the holiday as it is marked by a national bank holiday.
If you’d like to know what a typical British Easter looks like, former Vicar and current PhD student Robin has you covered. From Easter eggs to fluffy chickens, explore popular Easter traditions in Britain. Plus, find out how Robin is spending the holiday. Read Robin’s blog.
