Taught students, are you ready to 'Have Your Say'?

Share your views for a chance to win a cash prize...

Whether you’re in your first year or final year, all eligible taught students (undergraduate and postgraduate) will have the chance to share your thoughts and feedback on your course and experience through ONE of our national surveys: UK Engagement Survey (UKES), National Student Survey (NSS) and Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).

You’ll be asked to tell us your views on what we’re doing well and what can be improved. It’ll help us make the changes you want to see - so what you say can make a real difference to your experience and for future students at UoB.

And as a thank you for your time, fifteen students will also be in with the chance of winning a £150 cash prize each (5 winners for each survey).

Do you really listen to our feedback?

We do! We want to ensure we're supporting you in the best way possible, and we do take your feedback seriously. Through previous surveys, which are run independently so your answers remain anonymous, we have listened and made improvements and investments including in:

  • Providing assessment support and academic feedback
  • Easing Cost of Living pressures
  • Catering on campus
  • More wellbeing support.

What do I need to do?

On Monday 5 February, depending on your year of study, eligible undergraduate students will be invited to complete either the UK Engagement Survey (UKES) or National Student Survey (NSS).

On Monday 4 March, eligible postgraduate taught students will be invited to complete the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES).

Postgraduate Researchers, please note that your national survey runs every other year. However, there are still other opportunities for you to provide feedback on your experience through University surveys, the Guild of Students, the University Graduate School, student/staff forums and student reps.

Details on how to complete a survey, and when by, will be shared through your student communications channels, including email, e-newsletters such as The Brum Bulletin, MyUoB App, Canvas, and our socials. Your School and Department will also be in touch to encourage you to take this opportunity.

Don’t miss out on the chance to have your say!
