The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is open to all eligible postgraduate taught students.

The survey is your chance to reflect and feedback on your course and wider university experience. It’s independently run (by Advance HE) and, therefore, confidential so you can provide honest feedback on what we’re doing well and what you think we could be doing better.

We’ll use the results to help us understand what you value and where we can make improvements – so what you say can make a real difference to current and future students.

The more students who complete the survey, the more representative it will be – don’t miss out on the chance to have your say.

As a thank you for your time, five students who take part will win a £150 cash prize each. If you wish to be considered for the online survey prize draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions with the University of Birmingham.

How do I complete the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey?

If eligible, check your UoB email inbox for an invitation to take part in the survey from Monday 4 March 2024 using a personalised link. You'll continue to receive emails from the University as well as from a JISC address to encourage you to have your say.

You can also log in manually using this link and following these instructions:

  • Respondent ID - this is your full University of Birmingham student ID number (you'll find this on your ID card)
  • Password - this is your date of birth in the following format DD/MM/YYYY (including the / / ) For example, if your birthday was 14th February 2002, your password would be 14/02/2002

Please do not try to log in with your usual username and password that you would use to access other University of Birmingham systems/accounts. Completing the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey will take around 10 minutes to complete.

Don’t miss out – have your say by Monday 13 May 2024.
