We are raising awareness about violence against women and girls

At next week’s Brunch & Be Heard event we’ll listen to lived experiences from women at UoB and discuss how to make safer, more inclusive spaces for all. Free brunch provided.

At UoB we’re committed to creating an environment where everyone can feel safe and supported and to help raise awareness of violence against women and girls.

To coincide with International Women’s Day (8 March), we’ve teamed up with your Guild of Students to offer a free Brunch & Be Heard event on Thursday 6 March 2025 from 11:00am-2:00pm in the Guild’s Debating Hall.

Grab your pastries and snacks and hear powerful stories from current students about women’s lived experiences. Plus, you’ll get the chance to meet local MP Preet Kaur Gill, the UoB West Midlands Police team, and chat to UoB support services Report & Support and Pause, as well as mental health agencies.

Head over to the Guild of Students’ website to book your place.

If you, or someone you know, has been subjected to stalking and harassment, sexual violence, or domestic abuse, you can use our Report & Support service in confidence.
