We’re excited to share our Christmas on Campus celebration plans with you. Head down to campus on Wednesday 4 December and help us spread Christmas cheer.
Don’t miss the chance to meet Santa at our Christmas Marquee in University Square from 11.00 to 17:00. Plus, the chance to receive a free present in his Grotto (but be quick as stocks are limited!). Grab yourself a hot drink and snack or get creative with crafts and fun stalls.

Pick up your festive handcrafted treats at our Christmas craft fair. Great for secret Santa ideas, stocking fillers or presents. Drop by the Bramall Music Building atrium between 11:00 and 15:00.

The popular artisan market is back with festive gifts, discover unique crafts, delicious food, and handmade goods from local traders.
Christmas light switch-on

As the evening darkens, the Chancellor's Court will come alight for our annual Christmas light switch-on event at 17:00. Gather with your friends, wrap up warm and watch the lights get turned on around Chancellor’s Court.

Grab and your friends take a free spin on the Big Wheel. It’s a great way to get yourself out of the Library and melt away any snowy moods this Christmas season.
University’s Annual Carol Service

Stick around on campus and gather with your friends to join us for some joyful songs at the University Carol Service with our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy and celebrate the joy of the Christmas season! All are warmly invited to the annual celebration. Doors to the Great Hall open at 17:30 for a 18:15 start. No need to book, just show up but spaces are limited and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Christmas opening hours
While many of you head back home during this period, we know that some of you choose to stay on or near campus over the Christmas break.
The University will officially close at the end of the day on Friday 20 December and reopen on Thursday 2 January. During this time, many of our services and spaces, will be closed, while any others that will remain open, may operate reduced hours. The Main Library will be closed from Saturday 21 December to Thursday 26 December.
