Grab a free jab on campus today (20 June)!

In partnership with University Hospitals Birmingham (NHS) the mobile vaccination team is back on campus today so that anyone who is eligible can grab a jab!

Open for all students, the vaccination unit will be on the Green Heart right beside the Study Space Marquee from 9am to 4pm (Monday 20 June 2022).

You will be able to pop along – no appointment needed - and grab a free jab, for a first, second or booster jab of the Pfizer vaccine only.

You don’t need to be registered with a GP or have your ID with you but it helps if you know your NHS number.

Remember, if you have already had your first dose you need to wait 8 weeks before you are eligible for your second dose. If you have already had your second dose you need to wait at least three months before you can get a booster dose. And, if you have recently tested positive for Covid you have to wait for 28 days before you can have any further doses.

Overseas Vaccine Equivalency Service

Along with the mobile vaccination unit, today the NHS are also offering a new Overseas Vaccine Equivalency Service on the Green Heart (9-4pm).

This means that if you got your Covid vaccine(s) outside of England, you’ll be able to update your NHS records and get the NHS Covid Pass, which is widely recognised and especially useful if you plan on travelling.

For this free service, you must be registered with a GP in England and bring:

  • Your NHS number
  • Your passport
  • Evidence of your current UK address

Evidence of your overseas vaccination (proof of each individual vaccine – an original certificate or a confirmation of vaccination, can be in digital form e.g. a mobile app)
