Blue Course: Basic Skills and Everyday Bike Skills

Join us from Wednesday 30 April to Wednesday 14 May 2025 for our Blue Course.

Develop the skills you need to cycle on roads with confidence with our Blue Course. Comprising of three two-hour sessions, the course will teach you the correct techniques for braking and signalling, plus how to use gears (basic skills).

You will then have the chance to develop your confidence in on-road bike handling. You'll learn how to cycle on campus and local roads and how to navigate simple junctions, preparing you for short commutes and leisurely rides (everyday skills).

The course is open to University students and staff and costs £6 for students and £12 for staff. Feel free to bring your own bike or use one of ours. You'll be joined by up to five other learners, making it easier to learn in a group setting.

Session 1: Wednesday 30 April, 5pm – 7pm

Session 2: Wednesday 7 May, 5pm – 7pm

Session 3: Wednesday 14 May, 5pm – 7pm
