University of Birmingham staff and PhD students are warmly invited to march with the Rainbow Network and LGBTQ+ ally scheme in Birmingham Pride on Saturday 27th May.
We also welcome former staff and alumni who wish to remain in contact with an LGBTQ+ group at the University of Birmingham to join us.
+1(s) are welcome, including under-18s. Please note that under-18s are the responsibility of their accompanying adult(s), and we recommend a maximum of two under-18s per accompanying adult to fully ensure their safety and enjoyment.
Birmingham Pride brings together tens of thousands of members of the LGBTQ+ community, friends, allies, and supporters in celebration of LGBTQ+ equality. The parade takes place at 12 noon on 27th May. Rainbow Network parade team participants will have access to an indoor rest area with bottled water and washroom facilities before the start of the parade.

The Exchange will be lit up in all the colours of the rainbow on Friday evening. The University’s city centre venue is an official welcoming space for anyone enjoying the Birmingham Parade celebrations or wanting to use the facilities, so do drop in from 8am on Saturday 27 May. There’s even a range of limited edition rainbow cakes on sale at the café!

UoB at the Village Street Party
If you are joining the festivities at the Village Street Party (ticketed area) on Saturday afternoon, why not pop by the UoB stall to say hello to our student and staff volunteers, pick up UoB branded LGBTQ+ merchandise, or take a short break on our deck chairs.
