Alumni of the Year 2014 - nominations open

The nomination process for the Alumni of the Year Award 2014 is now open. 


This is a great opportunity to recognise Birmingham alumni who have made a valuable contribution to the University, the community or to their professional field and to demonstrate the extraordinary range of achievements amongst Birmingham’s former students. Amongst recent awardees are Olympic gold medallist Paul Manning MBE (BSc Geology, 1996), Luciana Berger MP (BCom Commerce with Spanish, 2004) and last year’s winner Dr Matthew Clark (BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences, 2002), founder of the Welbodi Partnership, a charity supporting paediatric medical care in Sierra Leone.

 

Staff and alumni are able to nominate alumni in any of the following categories:

 

  • Young alumnus (under 35) of the year
  • Alumnus making an outstanding contribution to business / industry
  • Alumnus making an outstanding contribution to society / community life
  • Alumnus making an outstanding contribution to culture / media / sport
  • International alumnus of the year

 

It is not necessary to seek the approval of the nominee beforehand. The whole process is confidential, and no names are published until the nomination has been approved and the individuals concerned have been formally approached and have accepted.

 


How to nominate

To make a nomination please complete the short nomination form and email it to f.l.worrall@bham.ac.uk with the subject heading 'FAO: Claire O'Sullivan'. The deadline is midday on 12  March 2014 so please don’t delay. We look forward to receiving your nominations!
