Changes to roads around hospital site

Over the next few weeks there will be two road changes on the Queen Elizabeth hospital site.

  • Mindelsohn Way (formerly Main Drive) becomes a two-way road
On Monday 22 October, work will begin to change the one-way section of Mindelsohn Way (from Trust Headquarters, past Nuffield House, to the junction with Vincent Drive) into a two-way road. The road will not be closed at any point during the construction works but there will be lane closures in place at various times during that week.
Mindelsohn Way will be a two-way road from Monday 29 October.
  • Metchley Park Road closure
On Saturday 3 November and Sunday 4 November, contractors will close the end of Metchley Park Road to vehicular traffic near its junction with Mindelsohn Way (to the north of Trust Headquarters).

Why is this work happening?
These changes are a condition of the original planning consent for the new hospital granted by Birmingham City Council. These road alterations are the final piece of the jigsaw.
