CoSS - Professional Development module

The College of Social Sciences' new Professional Development module will be piloted in 2013-14. This innovative initiative, comprising an optional 20-credit final-year module to be offered where there is currently no opportunity to undertake work-based learning, will:

• Help students bridge the gap between academic study and their future professional life post-graduation
• Make available an opportunity that is already available on some programmes to all students and offer a point of differentiation in comparison to competitors
• Help students’ personal and professional development, and workplace experience that will be valuable for their future employment

Students will be supported through a series of workshops designed to help them meet academic objectives.
