Book to the Future is back

Don’t miss your chance to submit an event for the second Book to the Future festival this autumn. Running 14-18 October, this celebration of the written and spoken word will feature our academic and student talent as well as well-known alumni authors, poets, playwrights, journalists and scriptwriters. We’re planning a packed programme of exclusive exhibitions, workshops, performances, panel debates and lectures and we want you to be part of it!

The first Book to the Future featured Sir Tony Robinson, David Lodge, Martyn Waites, Richard House and the first UK-wide University poetry slam competition among many others.

In the shadow of Old Joe, we’ll be exploring the theme of time - travelling around the world in 90 minutes, examining the century since the start of WWI and celebrating 450 years since the birth of Shakespeare. Whether it’s an event about how to write a novel in your spare time or a 24-hour poetry performance, we want to hear your ideas.

Take part in the festival and showcase your research and writings - submit an event for inclusion in the festival brochure by emailing Charlotte Heap at c.heap@bham.ac.uk. Final deadline for submissions is 18 July.
