Parking restrictions on Friday 23 June - Undergraduate Open Days

On Friday 23 June the University will host the first of two June open days, enabling thousands of prospective students to visit campus and see first-hand the fantastic opportunities that are available to them.

Due to the increase in the number of vehicles expected on campus there will be increased traffic pressure on parking during this time.  To effectively accommodate visitors, North East car park and Pritchatts Park Village car park will be reserved for open day visitors only. A Park and Ride service for visitors will be also operating to further relieve congestion and parking problems.

During this time, we ask you to look at alternative options to travel to campus - where possible take the train, bus, cycle or consider car sharing for the day.  The University has its own car sharing system called Liftshare, which matches staff from across the organisation and enables them to find colleagues to car share with.  There are also priority car parking spaces across campus to incentivise car sharing. In order to help encourage staff to use public transport on the day, we have also secured some one-day travel passes from Transport for West Midlands that staff can access by emailing sustainabletravel@contacts.bham.ac.uk.  These will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  There is lots of information about the different travel options available for staff on the intranet: https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/has/sustainable-travel/index.aspx

Many thanks for your co-operation regarding this key recruitment activity.
