Essential maintenance to University's telephone system

As part of our ongoing commitment to continually improve services, we carry out regular maintenance checks and upgrades on a number of IT systems and services across the University. This is to ensure all systems continue to run smoothly and efficiently when you need them most!

This week, we are installing an essential upgrade to rectify a fault on the University’s telephone system. This will result in a small amount of downtime on phones across campus.

When will the maintenance work take place?
Maintenance work will take place on Wednesday 13 June at 4.00pm and if successful will be completed by 4.30pm.

How will this affect me?
Every effort has been made to minimise the impact on staff. However, there will be a short downtime of about 30 seconds on telephones across the University. During this time you will not be able to make a new call or receive a call.

For a small number of staff, there will be a longer downtime of about 10 minutes, during which time you will not be able to make or receive a call.
