What to do if you have lost your passport 

If you have lost your passport inside or outside the UK, please do not panic. We understand this can be stressful. The International Student Team (IST) is here to help and guide you. Please  contact us as soon as possible. 

Alternatively, you may find it useful to read the information below if you have lost your passport inside the UK or outside the UK. 

Lost your passport inside the UK

  • You must apply for a new passport at your country’s Embassy. A list of all Foreign Embassies' contact details can be found on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website;
  • In addition to this you should update the UKVI to inform them that you have obtained a new passport, using the MCC form;

  • Once you receive your new passport, please bring it to the International Student Team reception so that we can update your records.

Lost your passport outside the UK 

  • Report the loss or theft to the local police and obtain a police report.

• Contact your country's embassy or consulate as soon as possible to apply for a replacement passport.

• Inform the International Student Team (IST) that your passport has been lost so we can advise you on the next steps.
