Dinesh Chauhan JP

Hindu Chaplain

I have served as a Hindu Chaplain since 2005 and have dedicated much of my life to faith, community service, and public leadership. I am a founding member of the Shri Krishna Temple in Birmingham and have served as its President for the past 22 years, helping to guide its growth and development.

I have also had the privilege of serving as Chair of Trustees of the Shri Hindu Community Centre, contributing to the wellbeing of the wider Hindu community. In 2001, I became a founding member of the Birmingham Faith Leaders Group, where I continue to work with leaders from different faith traditions to promote understanding, collaboration, and community cohesion.

Alongside my faith and community work, I enjoyed a successful career with BT, retiring as a Service Manager after many years of service. I also served in the magistracy from 1988 to 2019, including as Chair of the Magistrates' Bench.

I remain actively involved in community initiatives and am passionate about supporting people from all backgrounds. As a Hindu Chaplain, I am always happy to offer pastoral, spiritual, and wellbeing support to both staff and students, providing a listening ear and guidance whenever needed.
